Scarlet Elf Cup - Sarcoscypha sp.

Bright red cup fungi that were 3-5 mm diameter. The inner surfaces were red, smooth, and wrinkled. The outer surfaces were pink/peach and slightly hairy. They did not have stems.

  Thanks! It is either Sarcoscypha austriaca or Sarcoscypha dudleyi, but unfortunately, I don't think that the species ID can be determined without microscopy. Posted 7 years ago
