  1. That's incredible, never seen anything like it. Found a cool drone video to go along with it:

  3. It looks a little bit like Uluru. Do you know what the red colour is from?

    1. This is just about in my neighborhood (about a days drive from me). The painted hills are clay dirt, rather than rock and reflect climate changes in the area over time. The colors can change a lot with varying levels of soil moisture, but it's a pretty dry area, so it hasn't all simply washed away. The area also has good fossil beds - no dinosaurs though... it was underwater then. Posted 7 years ago, modified 7 years ago
      1. Awesome that you live so nearby. It's such a gorgeous area. Posted 7 years ago
        1. Though I grew up in the east, I live in Seattle now - it's an amazing place to be. You can go from ocean side rainforest to high, dry desert in a couple of hours. We have 3 incredible national parks plus Mt. St. Helens. Canada is a short trip away, as is some amazing scenery down in Oregon. I love it out here. Posted 7 years ago
          1. It is an awesome place! I've been to Mt. St. Helens, but not Seattle. Love the PNW! Posted 7 years ago
