Cortinar Mushroom Gills - Cortinarius sp. It was still in the button stage and the cap hadn’t opened up yet, but when I sliced it in half, I saw gorgeous purple gills with the cobweb-like veil. When the cap finally expands, the threads will stick to the stem, where the spores will color the threads reddish-brown.
