Eastern American Toad

A large toad, close to 5cm in size. Color was mostly brown and olive. It had a very light middorsal stripe and 1-2 warts in each dorsal spot.

    1. Lol, I spot a lot of things while lying on the ground looking for fungi! This toad merely hopped out in front of me on the trail though ;P Posted one year ago

The American toad is a common species of toad found throughout the eastern United States and Canada. It is divided into three subspecies—the eastern American toad , the dwarf American toad , and the rare Hudson Bay toad . A new taxonomy places this species in the genus ''Anaxyrus'' instead of ''Bufo''.
