
Banded Longhorn Beetles
Two banded longhorn beetles caught mating. These beetles have several distinguishing characteristics. Their elytra are reddish brown with the somewhat variable yellow markings. The pronotum and the elytra both have a golden pubescence. The antennae are black and the legs are tan to reddish brown.

Typocerus velutinus, the Banded Longhorn, is a longhorn beetle with a distinctive pattern of broad yellow bands on a chestnut background. It feeds on nectar and pollen.
