Sunbathing! A pair of Leaf Insect/Phyllium - Phyllium chrisangi, taken using back-lit to illustrate that although Leaf Insects looks like they have wider abdomens, in essence, their abdomen is similar to other Phasmids just that they have wider 'lobe/appendages' which are very thin with markings that makes them looks like leafs, for perfect camouflage. 3. Albert, the same photo is added to the Phillium philippinicum species.
Sunbathing This Leaf Insects - Phyllium philippinicum, although known as leaf insects for the mimicry and resemblance to leafs, they are still considered Stick Insects/Phasmids. Their 'widened' abdomen is a form of thin appendages to mimic the leafs, the true 'abdomen' is still slender like all other phasmids as can be seen in the 'shadow' in the picture.<br />
