Sunbathing! A pair of Leaf Insect/Phyllium - Phyllium chrisangi, taken using back-lit to illustrate that although Leaf Insects looks like they have wider abdomens, in essence, their abdomen is similar to other Phasmids just that they have wider 'lobe/appendages' which are very thin with markings that makes them looks like leafs, for perfect camouflage.     Sunbathing This Leaf Insects - Phyllium philippinicum, although known as leaf insects for the mimicry and resemblance to leafs, they are still considered Stick Insects/Phasmids. Their 'widened' abdomen is a form of thin appendages to mimic the leafs, the true 'abdomen' is still slender like all other phasmids as can be seen in the 'shadow' in the picture.<br /> <br /> Picture taken with back-lighting.
