Sunbathing This Leaf Insects - Phyllium philippinicum, although known as leaf insects for the mimicry and resemblance to leafs, they are still considered Stick Insects/Phasmids.  Their &#039;widened&#039; abdomen is a form of thin appendages to mimic the leafs, the true &#039;abdomen&#039; is still slender like all other phasmids as can be seen in the &#039;shadow&#039; in the picture.<br />

This Leaf Insects - Phyllium philippinicum, although known as leaf insects for the mimicry and resemblance to leafs, they are still considered Stick Insects/Phasmids. Phyllium philippinicum is a species of walking leaf insect and part of the order (Phasmatodea) which include stick insects. This is a perfect mimic of a leaf.
