Orange ladybird - Halyzia sedecimguttata
When I made this picture on Vitosha Mountain in October, I did not even think that this was anything other than Harlequin Ladybug. I just made some pictures of boredom while I waited for my wife to bring something to eat from the small restaurant nearby. I did not bother to make any better shots at all! Now I realize that this is a new species for me!

"Halyzia sedecimguttata" is a species of Coccinellidae, also known as ladybird. Common in woodlands, both larvae and adults feed mainly on mildew and occasionally on small aphids. Their physical appearance is marked by a striking orange colour and the presence of usually 16 creamy white spots.
