  1. What reference do you have for Cytaea severa? There are several different specimens identified as Cytaea severa so I am not sure all of them era correct but they don't look much like this one.

    1. The male (or perhaps juvenile) does look similar to the photo:
      https://ednieuw.home.xs4all.nl/australian/salticidae/Salticidae.html

The two brown bands from the top view on that page seem to match. Next to it is a side view that also matches the eye arrangement as seen on Ernst's photo.

I'm not sure if the reference is valid, but if it is, it seems a reasonable species ID to me.

        1. Thanks. I was mostly referring to your remark that they don't look like this one. I'd say the male does look a lot like this one. Doesn't mean it's that species, just saying the male has a lot of visual matches. Posted 7 years ago
    2. I replied to you this morning but looks like my comments are deleted . Is this possible ? Posted 7 years ago
      1. Ferdy can delete comments but he only does it for spam. Maybe you forgot to post the comment or the comment was not saved for some reason, e.g. poor internet connection or by accidentally opening another webpage. Please reply again when you can. Posted 7 years ago, modified 7 years ago
      2. I didn't delete the comment, I wouldn't dare. It could be that the comment was too long and didn't save, this happens sometimes, sorry. Posted 7 years ago
        1. Now that you mention it that is most likely what happened . I just will check next time that it uploads properly. Posted 7 years ago
