guapote y garzas
egrets laughing at a guapote (Parachromis managuensis) who jumps out of shallow water in the mouth of Rio Chiquito after the devastating rain.
I am not even trying an ID, so that those who usually come down at me like vultures can work it out for themselves. I am a mechanic and very fond of nature, not a biologist who can ID a fish from 15000 kms away.
The great egret also known as common egret, large egret or great white heron, is a large, widely distributed egret. Distributed across most of the tropical and warmer temperate regions of the world, in southern Europe it is rather localized. In North America it is more widely distributed, and it is ubiquitous across the Sun Belt of the United States and in the Neotropics.
