    1. This is not an Erebus moth. This is some kind of skipper butterfly. Please set the country to narrow down the options for an ID. If it was found in India there are several similar species which may be tricky to identify.

    By the way, how did you come to Erebus hieroglyphica for this one? Erebus hieroglyphica seems to have white stripes on each wing, which your photo does not show.

      1. I wrote a comment above explaining that this is not a moth but a skipper butterfly and I have given a link to a list of possible species. In spite of that you continue to identify it as a different moth. We take species identification very seriously so please stop picking random IDs. Posted 7 years ago
