Mantodea ooth and Cassidinae larva
While looking into the images of Aspidimorpha (Chrysomelidae: Cassidinae) on JD, I stumbled on some images of larvae that reminded me of some "structure" I had seen on one of my images from Java (Indonesia).
Turns out I had this as "bycatch" on a few hasty images of the ootheca of some Mantodea that I saw on a patch where sugar cane and some other stuff (sweet potatoe?) was grown next to a sawa of friends near Kediri.
So, the "hairy structure" next to the ooth should be the larva of some Cassidinae and probably some Aspidimorpha. Compare to the link below. Those (supposedly) show the larvae of Aspidimorpha sanctaecrucis and the images look uncannily similar.

However, there are some similar images on the internet too, that carry different names (such as Aspidimorpha maculatissima), so it's probably not possible to ID these (I couldn't find any scientific papers on this particular expression of the "garbage shield" carried by many Cassidinae).
Very nearby I found an Aspidimorpha "miliaris"(?) with the pale grey-with-yellow-streaks base colour seen often on Java, but the larvae of miliaris seem to be quite different and would be carrying more of a "Hautmaske" (skin-mask/shield) as opposed to the "Kotmaske" (faeces-masl/shield) so the larvae is not likely to belong to that species.

As for the ooth, the only Mantodea I saw nearby was some Creobroter, which may or may not indicate something about the ooth :o)
