Paropsisterna nr hectica Paropsisterna hectica occurs in the east coast and feeds only on white sallee and similar mallee gums. This beetle in WA was found on Marri gum and entirely isolated population. The adeagus is quite distinct and this population represents a new cryptic and undescribed species. I have found and dissected two males and found also a female. The red protum and head is a feature never seen in P. hectica from the eastern states or Tasmania.
