Big barn spider!

I saw this big guy hanging in the middle of my yard. These are everywhere around here but this one is one of the biggest I've ever seen (Easily an inch long body)

I think this is a Neoscona sp., most likely Neoscona crucifera, not an Araneus cavaticus. There are different photos identified as Araneus cavaticus so I am not sure which one is reliable.
