  1. It seems to be missing its hind jumping legs.
Hypsaeus westwoodi is a better match or maybe Holoarcus belingae.

    1. Thanks for the info, WildFlower.

Don't think it could be Holoarcus belingae, being recorded from Papua and not Philippines.

I was looking at Chorotypus sp for some similar looking pictures that I saw from Malaysia.
But not familiar with Hypsaeus westwoodi from Philippines, so far only 1 picture reference of it.

      1. I agree about Holoarcus belingae. The shape of the pronotum is similar but the location doesn't match.
I don't think it is a Chorotypus either. They are different - the pronotum is smaller, they have wings and the body is longer.

        1. I received reply from a Taxanomist specialising in Tetrigidae, according to him, this is a new species, undescribed, likely from the genus Hypsaeus or Hymenotes. Posted 8 years ago

  2. Good Day! Sir may I know where here in the Philippines did you found this insect? I believe I saw this same species and I also can't find its identification. Posted 3 years ago
    1. There's a map next to the photo, it shows the exact location. Posted 3 years ago
