Red Stick Was stumped when we first saw this Red coloured Phasmid, the females are mostly either brown or green and only the Male is red.<br /> <br /> From the look i.e. typical slender look, this Phasmid is from the family of Phasmatidae, sub-family Lonchodinae, possibly an undescribed species. Was stumped when we first saw this Red coloured Phasmid, the females are mostly either brown or green and only the Male is red.

From the look i.e. typical slender look, this Phasmid is from the family of Phasmatidae, sub-family Lonchodinae, possibly an undescribed species.

          Actually, that is the trend now, at least in the Phasmid scientific community, to have a genus named after a person, and I would love to have that, but definitely not Alberti as a genus name, its too common, probably 100 millions people with the name of Albert! lol

          As an example of genus names after a person, here are a few :
          - Hennemannia, 2016 (from the name Hennemann)
          - Channia, 2016 (from the name Chan)
          - Conlephasma, 2012 (from the name Conle)

          It will be an ultimate honour to have a genus named after me :D           Posted 8 years ago
