  1. I'll check what @Wildflower thinks of the name change. Posted 8 years ago
    1. Both Nuphar advena and Nuphar luteum are accepted species according to the Catalogue of Life. The one in Jivko's link is a subspecies (Nuphar lutea subsp. macrophylla) not the main species. Nuphar advena is a similar American species and we already have one of them but this is a European one.
Spatterdock Flower up close I see spatterdock flowers all the time, but I don't usually have a chance to see them this close! It always surprises me that the flowers never open more than this. Geotagged,Nuphar advena,United States,Winter

Note that the correct spelling is Nuphar luteum not lutea which is probably a mistake coming from the previous name Nymphaea lutea L. However, Nuphar lutea is the name used in Wikipedia so if we change it to luteum in the JD database there is a chance that a duplicate species entry might be generated again from Wikipedia.

      1. Thanks a lot, Wildflower. I propose to leave things as is for now. Posted 8 years ago
      2. Thank you! It was quite confusing for me! I shall change the name in the title and my own records. I also included a tag "Nuphar luteum". Posted 8 years ago, modified 8 years ago
