2. Great spot, Joost! Spotted it last week. Did you know that only two main colonies reside in the Netherlands, the rest being very lucky to survive?
    My shot was:
Right on (9) spot Number 9 is mainly a night-moth, also known to be active at daytime.

Not the best shot, but I only had a few seconds as I was strawling through a patch of forest grass to meet my parents- in-law at their temporary house to be.
In the Netherlands only two main geospots have been noticed where these moths survive and enjoy. This one was a stray, as no populace lives in the near vicinity. Some 20 km distant one of the two populaces reside.
The normal residence of these moths in more in the central and south parts of europe. I was lucky? Amata phegea,Geotagged,Nine-spotted moth,The Netherlands

    1. I saw yours, I also mentioned that in the other picture of the moth (side view).
Respect for the ID, it took me some effort to find the name.
