The Northern Cat-eyed Snake (Leptodiera septentrionalis) Another amazing creature on the famous "Bug-lady tour" at La Paloma lodge, Drake's Bay, Costa Rica. The guide seems to be holding this snake rather cavalierly since it is venomous. Still, he does this tour every night with the "Bug Lady" (an entomologist who wooks nearby) so he must know what he is doing. 1. I remember doing a snake tour in Costa Rica, but it was inside. Don't remember the place, was 10 years ago. Posted 8 years ago

Leptodeira septentrionalis is a semi-arboreal, nocturnal snake found from the southern tip of Texas down to northern South America. It is a rear-fanged species not thought to be dangerous to humans. Its diet is mainly frogs, with some rodents, lizards, and snakes.
