  1. Cool! How huge is huge? Posted 8 years ago
    1. I would be (very) tempted to yell a bigger number (relatively large specimen tend to call for over-estimation it would seem), but knowing that this one must realistically have been going on 20mm body length (I would have yelled 25-30mm off hand ;o) I hardly ever see them longer than around 15mm. This one got away, but I caught a much, much smaller one at the same location and that one was 12mm ... Posted 8 years ago

The gray silverfish, also known as giant silverfish or long-tailed silverfish, is a small insect whose Latin name is Ctenolepisma longicaudatum. As with the silverfish the gray silverfish has scales that cover the body in a silvery sheen. The gray silverfish can also move very fast. Gray silverfish are about two centimeters long and are found in books and paper.
