The stare A bamboo pit viper is a venomous snake found in the Indian subcontinent. They are green in color with prominent black or faint markings and this makes then difficult to spot.<br />
Like other pit vipers their venom is haemotoxic in nature. These snakes usually rest on high branches during day and come down to feed during night. This individual looks pale as it was getting ready to moult. Snakes shed their skin periodically to accommodate their growing size!<br />

'Trimeresurus gramineus' is a venomous pit viper species found only in southern India. No subspecies are currently recognized. It is the type species for the genus ''Trimeresurus''.
