Campodea on thumb

Some Campodea sp. (Diplura, Campodeidae) from the French mountains. These can be found in the soil almost everywhere, quite fragile and agile :o) Difficult to ID to species, even under a microscope - impossible from photo.

      There are a few other orders left as well, but I don't think I get a chance to make images of an Embioptera or Zoraptea any time soon ... Phthiraptera or Strepsiptera should have better chances ;o) Posted 9 years ago
