Eurygaster testudinaria imago teneral
Eurygaster testudinaria looks a lot like E.maura, but has the tylus sunken between the jugae, more pointed shoulders and somewhat different lengths of antennae segments. On the nymphs these characters are not applicable, so nymphs are virtually impossible to ID, unless raised to adulthood(!!)
This image is part of a series from 2nd stage nymph to imago:

''Eurygaster testudinaria'' is a Palearctic shieldbug. It occurs in Europe from the Northern Mediterranean to southern Scandinavia, and East through Central Asia to northern China and Japan.

Actually this is somewhat of a special case as it concerns a breeding project where I collected 2nd instar nymphs and this was the resulting imago, so strictly speaking it has a bogus location, being my home. But I'll tag it to the location of the collecting site for the nymphs. Posted 8 years ago
Is there currently a better way to this, or to render the thumbs more compactly without line breaks? Posted 8 years ago
My "no" was referring to your question regarding line breaks. Posted 8 years ago
