Wasp-mimic Longicorn Beetle ( Hesthesis sp.)
This longicorn beetle was about 25 mm long and looked very much like a wasp. But unlike a wasp it was not flying around but clambering over the flowers. Its antennae were also a giveaway; they were long, slightly curved with elongated segments. What was wasp like were the thin and fragile-looking hind wings which were exposed because of highly reduced elytra. The abdomen had white rings and legs were long and brown.
Spotted on Tea-tree.
