I'm not ready yet! This was an interesting encounter of this pair of Phasmid from the species Graeffea crouanii.<br />
They were found in abundance around the garden of the Resort I was staying at.<br />
The Female was still going through the process of moulting to adult, she is still pulling out her front legs from her old skin. During the process of moulting, they hangs with the head pointing down as they need the help of gravity.<br />
Her false wings already can be seen, the tiny red wings.<br />
The interesting part is an adult Male is already waiting for her!  He is the smaller one, on top of the picture.<br />

Both this Male &amp; Female are the brown variation of this species.  The green variation of this species can be seen here :<br />

Coconut Stick Insect This species of Stick Insect, Phasmid is called Coconut Stick Insect because they feeds on coconut leafs and are considered a pest in Fiji.     1. As I told you in my previous post, although like in this place, there were lots of them, but they don't fly, so it could be a challenge to find a mate. So, when they find one, they gotta 'reserves' her and wait :D Posted 9 years ago
