  1. Maybe a flat-backed millipede, but that's not very specific. I do think the flat-backs are a remarkable category. Little known and often quite beautiful. Found a cool one in Madagascar:

    Barydesmus sp ?, Masoala, Madagascar Another mysterious insect from Madagascar, this one looking like a piece of jewelry. My knowledge of millipedes is non-existing and online resources are scarce. My guess so far is that this is some kind of flat-backed millipede, possibly from the Barydesmus genus.     1. Thanks, Ferdy and yes it could be a flat-backed Millipede. That one you saw from Madagascar is a cool one indeed.

      Couldn't find similar images from Philippines, but strangely, there was something similar posted from Peru!
