National Park De Biesbosch, Netherlands
Panorama of part of NP De Biesbosch, one of the few remaining freshwater tidal wetlands in Northwestern Europe. This is one of our largest national parks, and a very important area for many bird species.
Just like almost anything in the Netherlands, it is man-made, yet increasingly given back to nature. This policy will continue in the future and will lead to the re introduction and population increase of several bird species. The park is also well known for its healthy and large beaver population, which is unique in the Netherlands.
Should you ever visit, note that the park is best explored by boat.
