
Olive Sea Snake
Olive Sea Snake - Aipysurus laevis, are olive in colour, around 2 meters length. Can be scary to some, but they are generally non-aggressive unless provoke. However, they are venomous. This species is also known as the Golden Sea Snake. The locals called them Sea Cobra.
Saw lots of them in my dives in South Lombok or Belongas Bay in particular. They were also seen quite deep in the water between 30-40 meters depth, searching/hunting for food. At times when we were holding on to rocks on the reef to wait out the strong current, this Snakes are swimming in between divers and slithering between our legs and hands!
