Pinnate Batfish - Platax pinnatus The adults of this Pinnate Batfish - Platax pinnatus likes to stay in Groups.  Although they can be found in smaller groups or in solitary, it is more impressive when you see them in a huge Group.<br />

The Juvenile phase of this Pinnate Batfish can be seen in this Spotting :<br />

At adulthood, they loose the orange margins with shorter fins and the shape of the body is more roundish.<br />

Pinnate Batfish - Platax pinnatus This is the 'teenage' phase of Pinnate Batfish - Platax pinnatus.  During the juvenile phase, it is completely black in colour with only the orange margins.  With the 'teenage' phase, the silver band is showing on the body although the fins are still very long.  At adulthood, they loose the orange margins with shorter fins and the shape of the body is more roundish.<br />

    1. Yes, the really small babies are completely black with the orange margins and they swim in an undulating way that makes them looks like Flatworm, and Flatworms are supposedly poisonous. Posted 9 years ago
