  1. It's not an insect in a spider's web but a spider in it's web. It should be something like this

    These two are identified as the same species but they look different to me and I couldn't find another one like the first so it is most likely a Micrathena sp.

  2. Unless you have another photo showing the other side of the spider I don't think it is reliable to identify it to the species level. I am not convinced all the references for Micrathena schreibersi are correct - there are 116 species in the genus. Posted 9 years ago
