The Black and Gold Cat
Here is a Bengal Tiger photographed in Kanha National Park, India. The illusive cat is patrolling her territory, traipsing through the dense undergrowth. The Bengal tigers are the most numerous of the tiger species, yet around 2,500 remain in the wild today. I am keeping my fingers crossed for these black and gold cats, and hope many others will do the same.

The Bengal tiger is the most numerous tiger subspecies. Its populations have been estimated at 1,706–1,909 in India, 440 in Bangladesh, 163–253 in Nepal and 67–81 in Bhutan.
