  1. Tough one. The pattern of speckles is highly specific but its hard to specifically search for that. Do you know the name of the plant it is on? Posted 9 years ago
    1. It's the same as the last image - a cryptantha ambigua. I'm hoping that may help in finding some clues it what this little guy might be. The little fleshy projects on it's side might be a clue too. It is supposed to be rainy tomorrow and I have the day off - so research, research :) Posted 9 years ago, modified 9 years ago
      1. I did a bit of searching taking the plant into account but can't find any image of the combination of it with a caterpillar or larvae. Still a mystery. Posted 9 years ago
        1. I put in a BugGuide request, but this one I think will be a tough one. If it's an early instar like I suspect, it may not have enough characteristics for a good ID.. and I've been able to find very little on Ethmia moths (lol… autocorrect keeps changing instar to install…) Posted 9 years ago, modified 9 years ago
          1. I'm thinking the black dots on the side of the body are quite explicit, perhaps this is a unique trade, but I'm just guessing.

Auto correct? Using JD on mobile or tablet?
