Graphium Sarpedon Luctatius - common Bluebottle
Like the common Blue Jay, this is a monstrously difficult butterfly to photograph. They prefer to fly the high canopy, rarely coming down low enough for camera access. Another gorgeous butterfly that I feel fortunate to find locally.
Location is Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. Alongside a stream and paddy fields.

The Common Bluebottle, or Blue Triangle in Australia, is a species of swallowtail butterfly, that is found in South and Southeast Asia, as well as eastern Australia. There are approximately sixteen subspecies with differing geographical distributions.

I have managed 6 sessions for 8 images with this species in 3 years. Sometimes you just get lucky.
