Veined Spear-grass (Austrostipa rudis australis) This beautiful subspecies had almost disappeared in the little valley behind our hill due to the invasion of a northern species of Pittosporum. It has also become a rare species in it&#039;s range.<br />
The local community have worked for years to turn things around and, once the trees were removed, vast swathes of this have returned to the area.<br />
