Ugliest spider I've ever found (Stephanopis pustulosa) This tiny spider was walking around slowly waving it's forelegs about. It's not easy to see but the eyes are mounted in a small turret adding to it's bizarre appearance. I guess other Stephanopis think it looks good.
Species not determined yet with certainty but still being discussed.
Body length about 6mm.
1. Would this be an example of the turret you are referring to?

Are those really extra eyes on top?

    1. No that link looks like structures on an abdomen. This is a slightly better picture of what looks like my spider where the cephalo-thorax has formed a peak and the tiny, beady little eyes are on top. https://www.flickr.com/photos/allan_lance/12497739215/ but Allan hasn't got a species name and he's one of our experts. :( Posted 9 years ago
      1. Thanks for that reference, its more clear now, giving it the illusion of a tiny head :) Posted 9 years ago
