Paropsisterna hectica
A glossy green beetle sometimes common in heathland or alpine habitats. It appears to be restricted to one foodplant, snow gum and individual populations can vary in color, being yellow rather than green as is the Tasmanian population (called Paropsisterna aurea) and also sometimes with red through the anterior portion of the elytra.
Paropsisterna hectica is a mostly green-yellow eucalyptus leaf beetle which is found in Victoria, Australia.

Are their pronotums on crooked or is it their faces. :)
If you put this in before the larva it would come up on the ID. Posted 9 years ago, modified 9 years ago
Why does not the earlier beetle come up in the ID position?
- The species intro (marked by the blue sign) is awarded to the FIRST photo on the site of that species. This is related to the post date, not the identification date.
- The species cover photo (the photo you see in the species box and in the species browser) is the photo of that species having the most karma, and can indeed change any time. Posted 9 years ago
