
Malagasy ground boa - full body view, Amber Mountain, Madagascar
Found along the side of the path. The guide knows the location of its nest so he tends to find the snake every day within minutes, it usually isn't far. This is the largest out of 80 snakes known to occur in Madagascar. It is unexpected to find Boas at all in Madagascar, since their "relatives" are in the southern pacific and the Amazon, not even close to Madagascar.
