Pentatomid Bug - early instar (Commius elegans) This is a nymph of the cherry ballart bug ( seen in link below) which is in its early stage of development. As the nymph enlarges between moults, the yellow on the yet wingless body becomes more prominent and the black patches along the midline of the abdominal segments become smaller. The early nymphs are often seen clustered around the eggs. They disperse as they grow.
This nymph was seen with other younger and older ones on the Cherry Ballart on which they feed.
1. Once the species record is created you can use it to identify more photos, there is no point in requesting the same species to be created twice. The system will not allow it anyway. Posted 9 years ago
    1. Is the species clear? Should I create the record? Posted 9 years ago
