Green Seaweed ( Ulva sp.)
The genera of sea lettuces also includes this filamentous delicate green seaweed. Whole fronds were made of thin green filmy flat bodies, making soft clumps on rocks. These were seen at the mouth of a river in the inter-tidal zone.
If nutrient level increases in water due to pollution, their growth increases to a "nuisance" level where they form green macroalgal blooms.
This sea weed is used as a sea vegetable by many island populations and is harvested for cosmetics.
