
Crusader Bug Nymph - 5th instar (Mictis profana)
With a handsome black trimmed yellow "waistcoat", this nymph is the 5th and last instar (developmental stage) of the Crusader bug. it was about 25 mm long and was seen on a young wattle plant along with a 3rd instar nymph seen here
The last instar has totally brown legs, yellow tipped antennae and yellow wing buds.
An adult was around but I did not see him/her on the day - will keep looking.

"Mictis profana" is a species of insect in the family Coreidae known by the common names crusader bug and holy cross bug. It is distributed in Australia, Indonesia, and the Indo-Pacific. The insect can be seen in most habitat types, from urban areas to the coastal heath, except for the desert.
