The last instar has totally brown legs, yellow tipped antennae and yellow wing buds.<br />

  2. Larval forms of insects develop into mature adults by shedding their skins (moulting/ecdysis) at regular intervals. The larval stage between each moult is called an "instar". Some insects, as in this case have about 5 instars. The last one emerges as an adult after a final moult. I will amend then notes to include "developmental stage". Thanks Ferdy. "Mictis profana" is a species of insect in the family Coreidae known by the common names crusader bug and holy cross bug. It is distributed in Australia, Indonesia, and the Indo-Pacific. The insect can be seen in most habitat types, from urban areas to the coastal heath, except for the desert.
