  1. Let's see how far we can get, together. For starters, I believe this may be a harvestman spider. Posted 9 years ago
  2. This is a 'Daddy-long legs' or 'Harvestman' spider. Genus Prionostemma is the best I can do though at the moment. Posted 9 years ago, modified 9 years ago
  3. Unsure now of the genus...there are so many!!!!! Posted 9 years ago
    1. Thank you so much. Would you like me to post a crop of the body?

      1. There are so many brown harvestmen that without an expert and a microscope we don't stand a chance… Posted 9 years ago
  4. I agree with Morpheme, there are hundreds of species and of many of them there is not even a photo. With all spiders it is extremely difficult to get to species level and as Morpheme rightly says, most of the time you need to look under a microscope to get an accurate ID. Sorry! fantastic spider though, keep posting them! Posted 9 years ago
    1. So true - for a lot of insects and spiders and fungi too. I reconcile myself to not being able to ID some things because to ID them you probably have to destroy them. Don't let it stop you from photographing them though. They can still be wonderful and useful even if you can't get down to the species level. Posted 9 years ago
  5. Nice looking harvestman and a great shot too. Continue your spider series although great deal of them certainly are impossible to identify from photos. I'll continue my dragonfly series with a couple more species :). Posted 9 years ago
  6. Spaceship lol.
It's good to find one with 8 legs. So often mine have less. They seem to pop out of those little sockets all too easily... but I think they might grow back with next moult.
I love that little dorsal button they have too.
