Green soldier fly (Odontomyia sp.) A small, gracile, placid green flies with huge red eyes, metallic green thorax, yellow and brown pattern visible through clear wings, pale underneath, flattish abdomen. <br />
About 12mm long.<br />
For a short while these are common on &#039;Prickly Moses&#039; acacia but nobody seems to know species. Genus is confirmed.<br />
Found in a local nature reserve adjoining national park.<br />
