      Compared to other seasons, it's slim pickings right now... it's been really wet and pretty cold out. Not too many fungi out and it's too cold and early for flowers yet. Posted 9 years ago

          lol - we both got spoiled by the mild winter here last year. When it starts to warm up in a month or two there will probably be some spring fungi, but we have far more varieties that fruit in fall and early winter. When it warms up a bit I'll probably be able to find some nice slime molds and soon enough it will be spring flower season again!
          I should probably pay attention to more of the LBMs too…. I pass by many of them as I keep thinking that they must all be the same, but I get the sneaking suspicion that there are many different types that are subtly different.           Posted 9 years ago

              Little brown mushroom - it's what mushroom hunters out here call any nondescript little (and usually brown) mushroom that they figure they'll have little to no chance of positively identifying. Posted 9 years ago
