Mesosemia telegone telegone - the blue that wasn't one
Today I had completed a major task so I allowed myself an hour with the dog and my 'new' lens (my 200mm was stolen with my laptop and 4 other lenses...). How glad I was to see a little blue flash among the leaves in the jungle part of our garden. Strangle, the blue had rings on the outside like a Satyrid .
So I spent another hour trying to identify the little sod. So here is what I found, I have checked butterfliesofamerica, INBIO CR and quite a few more. Definitely not a Lycanides.
So I went for plan B :) If you can't find it anywhere and it doesn't fir any know pattern, it is a Riodinid. YES!
This Mesosemia resembles most, I have also compared the outside rings that you can't see here. If you want, I'll upload that shot, too.

Mesosemia telegone telegone, sometimes called the Telegone Metalmark or the Violet-washed Eyed-Metalmark, is a butterfly from the family Riodinidae. It ranges from SE Mexico to Colombia. It was described by the French lepidopterist Jean Baptiste Alphonse Déchauffour de Boisduval in 1836.
