A twig habitat A marvelous species that i have ever come across!!
Still wondering what it is? A twig mimic spider(Ariamnes sp) with its egg sac. Yes you read it, a twig mimic. I was able to spot it only because of its egg sack.
What an evolutionary marvel. Its behavior, its location, every thing mimics of a twig. I wonder what all spiders can mimic!!
With just few strands of web, i'm curious to see how it hunts. Hope i get to document this behavior very soon!!
1. That really is great camouflage, spiders are masters of it it seems. Unfortunately we can only create a full species and not a genus with sp. From the photo I think it is unlikely to get this down to species level, but amazing find, well spotted! Posted 9 years ago

 2. This is amazing. Although it is a great example of camouflage, I added it to my list "Mimicry - a way to survive". Do you have closer photos? I suppose it has been taken in India? According to Wiki from about 30 species 2 are recorded in India - A.simulans and A.pavesii. Posted 9 years ago
