Layers of life So this is a closer photo of the last subject, which is a mold that grows on mushrooms... <br /> so - mushrooms grow on decomposing plant materials, the mold grows on the mushrooms, and these tiny spring tails seem to quite love the mold.. so - mushrooms grow on decomposing plant materials, the mold grows on the mushrooms, and these tiny spring tails seem to quite love the mold.. I'll bet if I could look even closer there's something even smaller living on the springtails.
