It has a characteristic bright-white spots all over its body, and its legs are striped with white over what appears to be black / brown in color.<br />

    1. It was an unexpected, but fortunate find of the mosquito in the image. Fortunate because I got to learn how to identify the mosquito.

      I wanted to try a Macro of a mosquito, which I did, and later I identified the species to be a dangerous one. I had to share it for more of its educational value. Currently Dengue is one of the most deadliest diseases in India.

  2. Nice shots, but I'm sorry to say that this is not Aedes aegypti. It is definitely a species of Aedes/Ochlerotatus though, but I'm not familiar with the species in your area. Either way, they are nice shots of a gravid female! Posted 7 years ago
