The Whip romance It was a cold misty moon lit winter night. Might have been a perfect setting for some romance for this couple!! I was surprised to the place chosen by this pair, it was the only rock in the surrounding and it was like a perfect stage!!
I was late for the show but anyways i didnt miss it :)

Like the scorpions the whip scorpions also involve in a mating ritual that looks like a dance. The "dance" is actually to test the of strength of male. I wanted to observe and document the behavior as long as the show continued but unfortunately had to retreat due to arrival of the jumbos!
1. Labochirus tauricornis or cervinus? Posted 7 years ago
  2. Incredible capture! Can you please indicate the location, at least the country?

As for species identification, Thelyphonida is a bit too generic, we need a specific species within that order.

    1. Hypoctonus Rangunensis AKA Whiptailed Scorpion - The closest species, which is mentioned in several places online. They are spread across various countries, and in tropical regions.

        2. I am not sure this is the correct species. Anyway, regarding the binomial name - The first part of the binomial, the genus name, is always written with an initial capital letter. In current usage, the second part is never written with an initial capital.
