  1. I don't think it is a Pimpla. Their legs are much more robust and more orange and the coxa of P. hypochondriaca is black.

    1. Thanks - not that I am saying you are incorrect as I'm certainly no expert but would it interest you to know that the book I have states that the coxa ranges from chestnut to black (apparently!). Posted 10 years ago
      1. Well, the Spanish description above doesn't even mention it and there are few photos of this species. One thing is obvious though, the legs are nothing like the ones on this photo. Posted 10 years ago
        1. Any suggestions as to what it could be? Looking at a few different website, it's been classified as a member of the "Hemiptera" family but I'll keep checking :) Posted 10 years ago, modified 10 years ago
          1. Come on, this is not a bug, your first suggestion was much closer - it is some kind of wasp Hymenoptera > Ichneumonidae, but I haven't found a good match so far. Posted 10 years ago
            1. Hmm, seems like the website I visited misled me then. I thought it was good as it started with a basic ID and depending on your answers, took you to more specific questions /bugs.. Posted 10 years ago, modified 10 years ago
